This Myanmar’s hidden beauty, Megui Archipelago offers scenic reefs, fascinating topography and prolific fish and invertebrate life. One of the main attractions for divers is the strong possibility of seeing big animals, especially sharks and rays. More dependable, however, is the tremendous variety of smaller fish and reef creatures, including many unusual species, some of which are rarely encountered in Thai waters. Add to this the allure of diving where few people have before and you’ve got all the ingredients for a top-notch dive destination. Considering the vast number of islands and reefs, many more dive sites are undoubtedly waiting to be discovered.
Hundreds of islands in the area each have a distinctive nature. Many are covered with enormous rain forest canopies and the illegal logging practices of the mainland havenât made it out to the islands yet. That means you can enjoy a relaxing walk through the trees, spotting deer, monkeys, wild boar and tropical birds. Rent a boat and enjoy some of the most spectacular fishing in the world. Or pop on a snorkel and go scuba diving over healthy and thriving coral reefs. Keep an eye out for dolphins as you go; while there are sharks in the area, there are no reports of any great problems for swimmers from them.
For those who prefer just to kick back and chill, pick an island (almost any island) and stock up on beer and barbecue and lay back in the white sand. It’s the perfect way to spend a day resting up from traveling the rest of Myanmar.
We recommend to advise that to buy medical evacuation insurance which provides for helicopter rescue on their own before starting the trip. The purpose of insurance is to provide proper coverage suited to the specific needs of Adventure Travel and in the case of an emergency case, works quickly and efficiently. The insurance should also cover accidents, health and loss or damage to the personal effects.
